Victim Uncooperative in Brooklyn Park Shooting

            On May 23, 2014, at approximately 9:22 p.m., officers from Northern District responded to the 900 block of Victory Avenue in Brooklyn Park for a shooting.

 

Upon arrival, officers located a 39-year-old male victim who had been shot several times in the lower extremity. The victim was transported to University of Maryland for treatment. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was seated on the steps of the house with other neighborhood residents. At that time, suspects opened fire as they walked by on the sidewalk, ultimately fleeing the location on foot after the shooting. A crime scene was established and multiple witnesses were identified for interview. Northern District detectives arrived and took control of the investigation. The witnesses were transported to Northern District for formal interviews. TPU officers and K-9 units flooded the area looking for possible suspects, but were unable to locate them. The victim is in stable condition at this time. This appears to be a targeted incident and the victim is uncooperative. The investigation is ongoing at this time and anyone with information is asked to call the Northern District Detective unit at 410-222-6135.
