Leopold lets Judge, not jury decide his fate

This morning County Executive Leopold decided to waive his right to a jury trial and to instead let a Retired Judge decide his fate.  This comes after Attorneys for the State and Leopold’s defense attorneys spent Wednesday questioning and dismissing prospective jurors.

Leopold has been charged with using AA police officers assigned to his security detail for personal and political gain.  Some allegations are that police were used to drive the County Executive to parking lots to participate in sexual encounters and that he used police resources to gather information for his “enemies list”.
