The Pasadena Business Association (PBA) has begun preparing for the 3rd Annual ChristmasTree Lighting to be held on Tuesday, December 4, at 7:00 PM in Lake Shore Plaza.

The ceremony will include: a magical visit from Santa in his sleigh, Chesapeake High School’s award-winning vocal ensemble, fire apparatus from Lake Shore and Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Companies, free hot cocoa (courtesy of the PBA), and free face painting and balloon animals by Welcome to Neverland.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony will support “A Child’s Christmas” charity gift drive. The program was started several years ago by the PBA to help families provide their children with a memorable Christmas. In the past, Pasadena residents arrived bearing gifts to place under the decorated tree, and spent the evening gathered awaiting the lighting countdown. The Town Tree will continue to be lit each night between the hours of 5 and 10PM, and on Christmas Eve it will be lit through the night.

The Commemorative Pasadena Tree Lighting Ceremony ornaments are being sold for $5 each at Ace Hardware of Lake Shore, The Ice Shack/Green Haven Gardens and Maher’s Florist. Funds raised from the ornament sales will go toward the PBA’s “A Child’s Christmas” charity gift drive.

PBA Members Hayley Gable Bowerman and David Rosage have organized the event for the past 3 years, and they are currently searching for a 20- to 30-foot tree to use as Pasadena’s official Christmas tree. Please contact the Pasadena Business Association at 410-360-4PBA if you know of a suitable tree.
