Brooklyn Park Cocaine arrest

            On March 12, 2014, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers from Northern District were on routine patrol in Brooklyn Park when officers observed a blue Ford Taurus exiting a known drug area in Brooklyn Park and proceeding southbound on Ritchie Highway.

 

The officers then observed the vehicle commit a traffic violation in the area of Ritchie Highway and 16th Avenue and they made a traffic stop. The Ford Taurus was being driven by a female driver and was also occupied by a male passenger in the front seat. Officers then requested and received consent to search both the vehicle and its occupants. A search of the Ford Taurus front seat passenger yielded four individual plastic baggies with suspected cocaine and marijuana. The male suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Northern District.

 

The approximate total weight of the suspected cocaine seized from the male suspect was 20.29 grams with a street value of approximately $2,000. The suspected marijuana weighed approximately four grams with an approximate street value of $80. Additionally, $225 in U.S. Currency was seized from the suspect. The suspect was charged with Possession of CDS (Cocaine) with Intent to distribute as well as possession of CDS both Cocaine and Marijuana.
