Attempted Bank Robbery, Fast Food Robbery make the latest Police release

Attempted Bank Robbery                                                                                                         Glen Burnie

 

On June 5, 2014, at approximately 2:10 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the BB&T Bank located at 7381 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. Glen Burnie, MD for a report of an attempted robbery.

 

According to bank employees, a white male entered the bank and presented a note demanding currency. The employees declined the suspect’s request and he promptly fled the bank without any proceeds.

 

Patrol officers responded to the area and a person of interest was located. The suspect was attempting to get on a public bus to leave the area. Video evidence from the bank and witness identification confirmed this person to be the suspect in the attempted robbery. The suspect also admitted to committing this offense.

 

He was subsequently arrested and charged with Robbery 1st degree and related offenses.

Commercial Robbery                                                                                         Glen Burnie, MD

On June 5, 2014 at approximately 9:05 p.m.., officers from Northern District responded to the Kentucky Fried Chicken located at 7395 Baltimore and Annapolis Blvd in Glen Burnie for a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a store employee who advised that the suspect displayed a handgun and announced a robbery. After obtaining an undetermined amount of US Currency, the suspect exited the business though the side entrance of the store.

 

A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store while it was open. When the store closed, the suspect hid in the restaurant before confronting one of the restaurant’s employees. Officers, K-9 and Aviation responded to the scene to search the area for the suspect; however they were unable to locate him.

 

Suspect: Black male, wearing a mask, 6’2″-6’4″, medium build, last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes/boots.
