Arundel Mills Carjacking suspect apprehended in Howard County

On February 21, 2014, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from the Western District responded to the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle for a report of a carjacking that just occurred.


Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, a 36 year old female from Glen Burnie.  The victim advised that she was standing next to her vehicle in the parking lot when she was approached by the suspect, who asked her for money.  When the victim told the suspect she didn’t have any money, he pushed her into her vehicle.  The victim struggled with the suspect and was able to escape from her vehicle to call for help.


The suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle. Investigators immediately partnered with Mall Security and were able to use surveillance video to identify the suspect. The vehicle was also found to be equipped with the LoJack vehicle tracking device. With the assistance of the Howard County Police Department, investigators were able to locate the vehicle in Howard County.


The investigation continued in Howard County.  Anne Arundel County Police and Howard County Police located and arrested the suspect at his home without incident.


“This case highlights the collaborative efforts of law enforcement partnerships and state of the art security and surveillance,” said Anne Arundel County Police Chief Kevin Davis. “This is yet another quick case closure as well as a notice to bad guys, that we work together to come after you quickly if you commit crime in Anne Arundel County.”


The suspect was charged with Carjacking, Robbery, Assault 2nd Degree and Motor Vehicle Theft.


Suspect:  Isaiah Perry, 29, of the 5600 block of High Tol Hl, Columbia, MD
