Anne Arundel County Teen Arrested for Assault/Robbery

ROBBERY (UPDATES)                                                            MILLERSVILLE


           On December 24, 2013, at approximately 10:06 a.m., officers from the Eastern District responded to the 8000 block of Veterans Highway in Millersville for a report of an assault.

A short time later, officers located the 32-year-old male victim in the 8000 block of Budding Branch Road in Glen Burnie. The victim relayed that he was walking in the rear of the 8000 block of Veterans Highway when he was approached by two black males, approximately 18-20 years old, wearing all black clothing. The suspects grabbed the victim and began to punch him. From there, they stole his wallet and fled toward the Greentree Community after the robbery. Numerous officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
On December 30, 2013, at approximately 6:10 a.m., officers from the Eastern District responded to the 8200 block of Great Bend Road in Glen Burnie for a reported robbery of a citizen.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 89-year-old male victim, who stated that he was walking back to his home from the McDonalds located in the 600 block of Old Mill Road in Millersville when he was struck in the head by unknown suspect(s), knocking him to the ground in the area of Cloverleaf and Four Leaf Clover Drive. The victim was then robbed of his wallet and an unknown amount of U.S. currency. The victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Initial information indicates the suspects are three black males in their teens, wearing dark, hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. On March 11, 2014, Eastern District detectives arrested a 16-year-old male from Glen Burnie for these robberies. Detectives identified the juvenile through investigative means. The suspect was charged in both cases on a juvenile citation.  (The juvenile was 15 years old at the time of occurrence.)


For the December 24th incident, the suspect was charged with robbery, second degree assault, and theft under $1,000. For the December 30th incident, the juvenile was charged with robbery, first degree assault and theft under $1,000. The suspect has been remanded into the custody of Juvenile Services and is currently incarcerated at one of their facilities.
